has news of the ‘19 Edge Titanium Elite appearance package that Ford is planning to debut at the Chicago auto show. Featuring 20' wheels, full body color sides and a rear premium skid plate its a bunch of premium nothing extras.
Ford states that they are looking to capitalize on the popularity of high end SUV’s. Ok cool, so why not invest more in Lincoln? Moves like this conflict with Lincoln. Why get this over the MKX or vice versa?

Why stop there? Why not a Titanium Platinum Gold Reserve Unobtanium Special Edition Limited?

Ford: Let’s make Lincoln more upmarket and exclusive

Pretty sure that’s already the name of the Chinese version.

And with the MKX/Nautilus and the Edge being pretty much badge engineered, they cancel each other out.

When I saw this I thought it was a Hyundai, and I thought “no it’s a GMC” ... oh it’s re-re-re-re-designed Edge

At first glance it could be a Hyundai or GMC. Which goes to show you how boring these crossovers are.

MLK edition. Oh wait. This isn’t FCA...

My question is why Titanium Elite instead of Platinum? They have Platinum trim F-series, Explorer, Expedition and Fusion but came up with a whole new trim level for the Edge version? Ford really needs to standardize their trim levels across the models.

Yea it makes no sense at all. At best they should be trying to push people towards Lincoln if they want to cash in on high end suv sales. There shouldn’t be anything above the ST model.

They’ve brought the Vignale to America!
No, it wasn’t working in England either.

Thats pretty much what this is. The thing is it should have worked in the UK because of the fact Lincoln doesn’t exist there so Ford can move up. Here this cancels themselves out.

Why didn’t they keep that grill. Looks so much better than the one they chose for the Edge

Its been 50 years!

But who would buy a Vignale when you could have a Titanium for cheaper or a German/Swedish/British brand for more lux? That’s why it didn’t work.

In the US can same the same thing but add in Lincoln. Its frustratingly confusing because they are trying to build the Lincoln brand to what it was, but then go and do models for Ford that directly conflict that.
